The final report on the scientific and innovative activities for 2025 of the Institute of Geography was presented at a joint meeting of the Earth Sciences Department of the ANAS and the Institute of Geography.

Following the agenda announcement by Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, Academician-Secretary of the Earth Sciences Department, the Acting Director General of the Institute of Geography, PhD in geography, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, delivered a report.

The head of the institute announced the creation of a working group to prepare climate maps of Azerbaijan and identify climate resources: "The working group has compiled tables and maps of the beginning, end, and duration of the heating season in the country. As part of the 'Great Return' program, a 3D model of the forest cover and relief of the Lachin and Khojavend regions has been developed. 3D models, in addition to providing a more realistic representation of the geographical structure of the territory, are widely used in environmental research, landscape planning, determining tourist routes, and in educational settings".

Z.Imrani provided information on the implementation of scientific research plans through 2025 and significant results, the interaction between fundamental science and education, grants, the state of electronic science, publishing activities, conferences, sessions, fieldwork, seminars, anniversaries, and other work completed.

Former Director General of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Alovsat Guliyev presented a final report on the scientific and innovative activities of his institution for 2025.

A discussion of the report followed. Speakers included Professor Shovgi Goychayli, Head of Department at BSU; Magsad Godzhamanov, Dean of the Faculty of Geography at BSU; Professor Aydin Ibrahimov, Head of the Department of Economic, Social Geography, and Tourism of Foreign Countries at BSU; Professor Rza Mahmudov, Head of Department at the Institute of Geography; and Mahammad Abduyev, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Geography, Doctor of Geographical Sciences.

Following the discussions and presentations, the annual report on the scientific and innovative activities of the Institute of Geography for 2025 was unanimously adopted.
