The newspaper "Iki Sahil" published an interview with professor Amir Aliyev, the head of the department of geomorphology of the coasts and bottom of the Caspian Sea of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev of the MSEAR.

In the interview, the professor touched upon such issues as the problems of the level and pollution of the Caspian Sea, the factors influencing it, the impact of level fluctuations on the animal world, the consequences of the reduction of the Caspian Sea in comparison with the Aral Sea, research to solve the problems and new projects being implemented, etc.

At the end of his interview, the scientist expressed his recommendations regarding the Caspian Sea, especially noting the importance of creating a single centralized monitoring center with the participation of representatives of the Caspian states, which would focus on the problems of the Caspian Sea and allow for a more in-depth analysis of the processes occurring in the Caspian Sea, as well as an Institute engaged in the study of the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan, as in other Caspian countries.
