The article "Assessment of the Impact of the Deflation Process on Vegetation Cover in Dry Conditions" is devoted to the problem of land degradation in the Caspian arid plain as a result of deflation (using the Caspian coastal region of the Republic of Azerbaijan as an example). The researchers selected characteristic observation sites in the Siyazan-Sumgait massif of the territory and determined the degree of vegetation cover and phytomass.
In order to study the impact of the long-term deflation process on the soil cover, soil samples were taken and general physicochemical analyses were carried out. It was found that the impact of the deflation process on the vegetation cover depends on the degree of vegetation cover of the territory.
Deflation not only affects the physical properties of the soil, but also accelerates the process of salinization of the territory.
