The textbook "Physical Geography of Azerbaijan" was published by the "MAXS Press" publishing house of the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov by the senior research fellow of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.Aliyev, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Stara Tarikhazar.

The scientific editor of the book, published in Russian, is Corresponding Member of ANAS, Doctor of Sciences in g/m Talat Kangerli, reviewers are Doctor of Geography Abduev M.A., Doctor of Geography, Professor I.I. Mardanov, Doctor of Geological Sciences Tagieva E.N. and  senior lecturer of BSU, I.F. Rakcheeva-Aktoprak.

The textbook examines in detail the geographical position, borders, territory, orography, geomorphological and geological structure, minerals, climate, hydrology, soils, flora and fauna of Azerbaijan. The author pays special attention to exogenous processes, landscapes, the Caspian Sea, environmental protection, and for the first time presents the physical and geographical zoning of the country's territory.
