US Ambassador Mark Libby discussed projects supported by the US Embassy with Elnur Safarov, Senior Researcher at the Caspian Hydrometeorology Department, and  PhD Rovshan Abbasov.

During the discussion, geographers who participated as local experts on cleaning up the Caspian and South Caucasus waterways made presentations.

Elnur Safarov presented his project  to local communities “Strengthening Local Communities to Combat Plastic Waste” in the Khachmaz region, and Rovshan Abbasov presented his work on the transboundary project “Water and Conflict: The Importance of Cross-Border Cooperation” with other Azerbaijani and Armenian hydrologists.
