Doctor of Geography, Professor Rza Mahmudov, Head of the Department of "Hydrology of Land and Water Resources" of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev of ANAS was awarded the Gold Breast Medal for fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity by the decision of the Presidium of the International Academy of Sciences, President Academician Walter Kofler.
R. Mahmudov has more than 200 scientific articles, 46 of which are published in well-known international scientific journals and conference proceedings. The scientist is the author of 11 monographs on water resources and climate change, 2 textbooks, 11 manuals, 4 programs, 7 scientific booklets (one of them was published in Geneva in English and Russian), 3 maps, one mudflow catalogue, 4 journalistic works and the author of one patent.
