The liberated zone of Karabakh was visited by employees of the Institute of Geography of ANAS named after academician H.A. Aliyev, specialist of the department of geoinformatics and cartography Anar Abtalibov and doctoral student Turkan Mamishova in a working group within the project "Assessment of environmental terrorism in the liberated territories of youth" initiated by the IDEA Public Association, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Azerbaijan Youth Fund.
Members of the working group of 60 people, selected from more than 300 young people who applied for participation in the project in Jebrail, Zangilan, Fizuli, Aghdam, Khojavend districts, the village of Hadrut and the city of Shusha, took an active part in research work on the geological structure, biodiversity, forest resources, soil degradation, determination of the river and chemical composition of water, measurement of the radiation background of the area, determination of geodetic points.
Within the framework of the project, young people took part in an action to plant trees in Karabakh, and also made a list of destroyed monuments of history and culture.
